her first exhibit with the California Art Club at the historic
Blinn House in Pasadena. The details can be found on her home

new paintings!

11 other fellow artists in a 2-page spread ad for the Valley
Artists Guild in the October issue of Southwest Art Magazine.
Her first national exposure! Debra also had two paintings juried
into the Women Painters West exhibit at VIVA Gallery in Sherman
Oaks.
September
Debra Hintz participated in her
first exhibit with Women Painters West at the Creative Arts Center
Gallery in Burbank. She was honored to win a Merchandise Award
for her painting "Carmel Coast". Debra even found herself
featured in an article for the show that appeared in the September
10 issue of the Burbank Leader newspaper. Debra also had two
paintings juried into the Valley Artists Guild 60th Anniversary
Fall Exhibition at VIVA Gallery in Sherman Oaks.
August
Debra Hintz had a painting juried
into the "My Way" Exhibit at VIVA Gallery. This was
an exhibit open to all four art groups that founded VIVA so with
that much competition, she was especially thrilled to have been
accepted. Her painting, "A Gleam of Quietude", sold
five minutes before the exhibit closed!
July
Debra Hintz had 2 paintings juried
into the "Valley Artists Guild Hidden Places" exhibit
at the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center. Debra also became a member
of the California Art Club and looks forward to being involved
with this highly prestigious art organization which began in
1909. For more information, check out www.californiaartclub.org.
June
Debra went on a two week art pilgrimage
to France! She spent a week in Paris and with her 6-day museum
pass, she visited as many museums as she could. She also toured
Monet's home and gardens in Giverney, sketched in cafes and even
did a bit of painting in the Tuileries Gardens. Debra then spent
a week in the south visiting Arles and the Saint-Paul Monastery
at St. Remy where Van Gogh had his most prolific periods. She
spent some time painting by a lavender field at the monastery
which she found to be an emotional and inspiring experience.
Debra also visited Cezanne's studio in Aix en Provence and saw
a spectacular retrospective exhibit in Montpellier of another
one of her favorite and most influential artists, Courbet. She
ended the trip in the Midi-Pyrenees region where she enjoyed
painting the countryside. She also discovered an incredible art
collection at the Bemberg Foundation in Toulouse. The inspiration
of the entire journey was endless and Debra is looking forward
to getting back into her studio to paint her experience.
